Hokkaido University Work-Life Balance Support Handbook
Aiming to create a diverse research environment where everyone can balance life events and careers, we planned work-life balance support content for Hokkaido University, centered on the concept of "reproductive health/rights."
Reproductive health refers to a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not only free from disease or disability in all aspects of the function and processes of the reproductive system. It means that people have the freedom to have a safe and fulfilling sex life, to be capable of reproduction, and to decide whether or not to have children, and if so, when and how many children to have. The concept that everyone has the right to enjoy this reproductive health is called "reproductive health/rights."
In other words, everyone has the right to live their life while taking care of their health, pursuing their daily work and research, and considering their career plans. We believe that an environment where people can enjoy this right leads to a diverse research environment.
Therefore, we created a website and a booklet that simplifies the content of the website, focusing on topics unique to women who experience many life events, not only explaining welfare benefits but also introducing the background that necessitates these benefits.
This content is intended not only for students, researchers, and staff who are thinking about life events and career plans, but also for those who are actively pursuing their careers, as it provides valuable information about the physical and health of their colleagues and family members.Download the booklet PDF file.
