A new on-site daycare center will open at Hokkaido University's Sapporo Campus in fiscal year 2007. It will be operated by an off-campus childcare provider, utilizing the building (near the Kita 18-jo Gate, behind the Enyu Gakusha) that was previously used as an unlicensed daycare center by the Hokkaido University Daycare Center "Kodomo no Sono" (now a Sapporo City-licensed daycare center). The main users will be nurses and doctors at Hokkaido University Hospital, but the doors will also be open to Hokkaido University researchers and staff outside the hospital. As it is an on-site daycare center, enrollment is possible within the fiscal year without going through city or ward office procedures, and temporary childcare and sick childcare services can also be used even if the child is attending another daycare center.
