We are planning to start accepting applications for the 2nd Annual Award for Outstanding Female Researchers (Jun Ashida Award) from April 1st.

○Purpose:
JST is a network-type research institute that conducts world-class research and development.
Our mission is to lead the way in co-creating innovation for the future.
As one of the management strategies to achieve that objective, we promote diversity.
We are working to promote the advancement of female researchers.
As part of this initiative, we will be focusing on outstanding research that contributes to a sustainable society and future.
This award recognizes female researchers and the institutions that promote their activities.
We are planning to open applications for the second round of the Award for Outstanding Female Researchers (Jun Ashida Award).
Furthermore, the Ashida Foundation (*) will be providing a supplementary prize of 1 million yen.
* The Ashida Foundation was established in 1994 by the late designer Jun Ashida with the aim of fostering youth development.
This fund was established through a donation to the Japan International Center for Science and Technology Exchange (JISTEC).
This announcement of recruitment is contingent on the approval of the government budget for fiscal year 2020 by the National Diet.
○ Recipients of the award:
▼ Outstanding Female Researcher Award (Female Researchers)
Generally, under 40 years old (however, periods of inactivity due to life events, etc., will be taken into consideration).
Any research field is acceptable as long as it is related to science and technology.
▼ Award for Promoting the Success of Outstanding Female Researchers (Institutions)
An institution that is taking steps to contribute to promoting the active participation of female researchers and serve as a model for other institutions
