NEWS

Applications for the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Research Fellowship (RPD) for FY20 have opened (application period has ended).

Applications are now open for the RPD (Return-to-Research Fellowship for Researchers Who Have Interrupted Their Research Due to Childbirth or Childcare), which the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) established in 18, for the 20 fiscal year.

In addition to the existing Special Research Fellowship program, JSPS established the "Special Research Fellow-RPD" program in 18 to support outstanding young researchers in smoothly returning to research after interruptions due to childbirth and childcare, from the perspective of childcare support and gender equality in the field of academic research. For example, part-time researchers and fixed-term postdocs are often not eligible for maternity and childcare leave systems, so this fellowship supports female researchers who have had to quit their jobs due to childbirth and childcare, and who have faced difficulties returning to research afterward, in order to resume their research activities.
