"Hokkaido University Hospital Nursery School Poplar" has opened!

On Thursday, March 29, 2007, the opening ceremony for the Poplar Nursery School at Hokkaido University Hospital was held.
The name of the nursery school, "Poplar," which was chosen through a public competition, embodies the wish that children "play a lot and grow up healthy and strong like poplar trees." Located near the Kita 18-jo Gate, behind the En'yu Gakusha building, the building is a repurposed former children's nursery school. Sunlight streams in through the south-facing windows, and brand new white wooden desks and chairs, baby cribs, and other furnishings are arranged inside.

The operation is entrusted to an external childcare provider with experience running in-hospital daycare centers at other hospitals, and the center is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The main users are nurses and doctors at Hokkaido University Hospital, but the center is also open to Hokkaido University researchers and staff outside the hospital. As it is an on-site daycare center, enrollment is possible at any time during the year without going through city or ward office procedures. In addition, temporary childcare and sick childcare services are available even if your child is attending another daycare center.

Visits are welcome at any time, so if you are interested, please contact us at the address below.
