 1. [Online] KNIT a Network! Researcher Exchange Meeting: Associate Professor Kaori Ota of Muroran Institute of Technology will appear at the 5th Role Model Roundtable (August 27th)

We will be hosting "KNIT a Network! Researcher Exchange Meeting: Role Model Roundtable," an online event held via Zoom during lunchtime on Thursday, August 27th, where we will welcome various guests involved in the world of science and research and have them talk about their lives and work in an interview format.
For our fifth installment, we will be featuring Kaori Ota, Associate Professor at the Information Systems Unit, Mechanism Elucidation Division, Regional Revitalization Research and Development Center, Muroran Institute of Technology.
 

Professor Ota, who spent her student years both in Japan and abroad, is now pursuing a career as a researcher. She researches information network technologies such as IoT and 5G to realize a prosperous future society. We spoke with Professor Ota, who is also raising two children at the same time!

 8. Announcement of Advisory Lecture at the 1st Advisory Board Meeting of the Hokkaido Diversity Research Environment Promotion Network (August 28)

We are pleased to announce that the first Advisory Board meeting of the KNIT (Hokkaido Diversity Research Environment Promotion Network) will be held online (via Zoom).
This advisory lecture will feature presentations and introductions of initiatives by three advisors with extensive knowledge of gender equality and industries within Hokkaido.

Professor Ryoichi Fujii, Director of the National Institute of Informatics: "Organizational Initiatives to Promote the Participation and Activities of Female Researchers - Proactive Acceleration through the Use of Evaluation (tentative title)"  
Introduction to Hokkaido Prefecture's (Hokkaido Prefectural Government) initiatives: Yuji Kondo, Director of the Life Safety Bureau, Department of Environment and Lifestyle, Hokkaido Prefecture
Target audience: Faculty and staff belonging to KNIT collaborating institutions
