9. Announcement of the 5-part series "Leadership Development Training Program for Female Researchers Aiming to Become PIs," starting September 15th.

The Hokkaido Network for Promoting a Diversity Research Environment (KNIT) will be holding the above-mentioned seminar via Zoom, with the aim of improving the research capabilities and leadership/management skills of female researchers.
This seminar is a five-part program focusing on leadership, management, communication, and team building, and will be held approximately once a month from September 2020 to February 2021.
The lecturer is Dr. Iris Wieczorek, President of the IRIS Institute of Science and Technology Management. Dr. Wieczorek founded the IRIS Institute of Science and Technology Management in Tokyo and has 25 years of experience with Japan, extensive knowledge of academia and science fields in various countries, and possesses both the perspective of an insider researcher and the perspective of a funding agency.

■Target: Female researchers (including postdoctoral researchers) affiliated with Hokkaido University and KNIT joint institutions.
■Capacity: 12 people. (Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, but if there are many applicants, priority will be given to those who can participate in more programs.)

8. Hokkaido Diversity Research Environment Promotion Network 1st Advisory Board Meeting - Advisory Lecture Announcement (August 28) (Repost)

We are pleased to announce that the first Advisory Board meeting of the KNIT (Hokkaido Diversity Research Environment Promotion Network) will be held online (via Zoom).
This advisory lecture will feature presentations and introductions of initiatives by three advisors with extensive knowledge of gender equality and industries within Hokkaido.

Target audience: Faculty and staff belonging to KNIT collaborating institutions

3. We will be holding a seminar to improve the research capabilities of female researchers, titled "Communication Design Starting with Storytelling" (9/4) (Repost)

Have you ever struggled to effectively communicate the appeal of your research and get others to understand it, whether it's securing research funding, launching collaborative research projects, venturing into interdisciplinary fields, or engaging in industry-academia collaboration or entrepreneurship for social implementation?
In this seminar, we will organize the content you want to convey from a "story" perspective and create a "research introduction" that can be used in various types of content.
We offer two options: in-person participation and online participation.
Date and Time: Friday, September 4th, 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Venue: Hokkaido University Human Resources Development Headquarters Conference Room or Online (Zoom)
Lecturer: Keiko Nakamura, Spacetime Co., Ltd.
Target audience: Female researchers (faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, etc.) affiliated with KNIT collaborating institutions.
Deadline: August 24th (Monday) *Applications will close once the maximum number of applicants is reached, so applications may close earlier than the deadline.
Please note that if you submit your own work in advance, you will be able to receive direct instruction from the instructor in front of everyone at the venue on the day of the event. This is limited to the first 5 people attending in person, so please apply for it when you register for the event.
