On Friday, September 4, 2020, we held a seminar to improve the research capabilities of female researchers, titled "Communication Design Starting with Storytelling," both in person and online.
This is part of the Hokkaido Diversity Research Environment Promotion Network (KNIT)'s efforts to improve the research environment for female researchers.
Due to measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the event was held in a hybrid format with both in-person and online participation, and 16 people from KNIT's affiliated and cooperating organizations participated.
At the venue, infection prevention measures such as maintaining sufficient distance between participants, ventilation, and disinfection were implemented, resulting in a small number of attendees. In addition, some participants from distant locations were able to attend online.
It began with each participant filling in their own thoughts on a template document that had been distributed in advance.
It was a remarkable template where, while listening to the instructor's lecture, you followed the instructions and by the last page, the outline of the document you wanted to create was already complete.
Based on the summaries created in the first half, we will arrange the information on the poster template using the rules.
The basic design for the poster was completed in no time.

The way the story is constructed is very easy to understand.
I'm happy that my sketches became easier to understand thanks to the instructor's feedback.

This was the first online seminar for the organizing team.
