From the very first session, we consistently followed a format where each participant would explain their research using one slide, including the introduction, in English within five minutes, followed by five minutes for questions and answers and comments on the presentation, for a total of ten minutes per person. However, with researchers from diverse fields (particle science, reproductive physiology, pharmacy, agriculture, oceanography, drug discovery research, etc.) gathered, we concluded that it was difficult to provide an introduction that satisfied all participants in just a few minutes. Therefore, for this fifth session, we adopted a format where participants could explain their research using three slides or less within five minutes. However, the more slides there were, the more information was required, resulting in a longer Q&A session even if the presentation itself was completed within five minutes. While this is good practice for presenting and answering questions in English, we found it quite difficult to suppress the participants' simmering desire to know more and finish within the time limit.
