On Tuesday, September 22, 2020, the symposium "Field Linguistics and the Diversity of Field Linguists" was held online.
This symposium featured presentations by five speakers and was attended by approximately 60 people. Although the symposium focused on linguistics, experts from diverse fields such as anthropology, archaeology, and ecology participated, leading to lively discussions and creating an opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange.
The Office for Promoting a Diversity Research Environment is working to promote a university-wide diversity research environment and increase the number of female researchers who take on research leadership and university management roles through its Diversity Research Environment Realization Initiative (Leading Type), "Support for Holding Research Meetings and Other Events by Female Researchers." The Office provides support for research meetings and other events held within the university. Applications for the 2020 academic year have closed, but applications will be accepted again next year.
