Sumitomo Life's "Building the Future of Child-Rearing" Project: We would like to inform you about our support for female researchers in the humanities and social sciences.
[Purpose] This program provides grants to female researchers who have interrupted their research due to childcare, as well as to female researchers who continue their research while raising children, to help them maintain and continue their research and living environments.
[Rules]
① Having majored in the humanities or social sciences.
② Currently raising a preschool-aged child (a child who has not yet started elementary school).
③ In principle, applicants must hold a master's degree or be enrolled in or have obtained a doctoral degree.
④ You must have at least two recommenders (one of whom must be a supervisor or head of the university or research institute where you have worked or will work).
⑤ You must currently be enrolled in a university or research institute, or have a confirmed start date for enrollment.
⑥ This is limited to those who have not received research grants from other award or grant programs (childcare leave benefits, etc., do not count as research grants).
⑦ Nationality is not a requirement, but applications must be submitted in Japanese.
[Award] “Sumisei Female Researcher Support” for approximately 10 people
We will provide a grant of up to 1 million yen per year for a maximum of two years.
[Application Deadline] Must be received by September 30, 2007
