JST has established the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Prize, an award for outstanding female researchers.
Applications will begin on October 10st.
○Purpose:
The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Embassy of Poland in Japan,
With the aim of contributing to the further advancement of female researchers in Japan,
This award recognizes the efforts of young female researchers who are expected to play an active role internationally.
We established the "Award for Outstanding Female Researchers (Maria Skłodowska-Curie Prize)."
The winner of the top prize will receive an award from the Polish Embassy and the Polish Academy of Sciences.
We will provide opportunities to visit research institutions and other facilities in Poland, where Maria was born and raised.
Using Poland as a starting point, I gained exposure to European research and development and engaged in discussions with a diverse range of researchers.
We hope this will pave the way for future career development and international opportunities as a researcher.
Furthermore, thanks to the sponsorship of JEOL Ltd., the prize money will be:
The grand prize winner will receive 50 yen, and each honorable mention winner will receive 25 yen.
○ Recipients of the award:
As of April 1, 2022, female researchers (including postdocs), graduate students (doctoral program), and those equivalent to those who have obtained a doctoral degree within the last five years*.
*This takes into account periods of inactivity due to life events, etc.
This covers a wide range of research fields related to science and technology.
