This year'sDEIThe Promotion Headquarters held a new event called the "Encouraging Exchange Meeting for Female PhD Students (tentative name)." This event brings together female doctoral students from all disciplines (humanities and sciences) to have lunch and chat about various topics.
In the first meeting, after each of us introduced our research topics and current status, we discussed how we could potentially use this gathering to develop future activities.
During the discussion,
"I would be happy if this becomes a place for networking that leads to career development and research exchange."
"Is there a way to create a platform for students to pursue doctoral degrees or to showcase their field of study to younger students?"
"It would be great if there was information available to encourage working professionals to consider pursuing doctoral studies."
Many opinions and ideas emerged, based on the individual concerns and feelings of each participant.
We plan to hold this exchange meeting again in the future. We also hope to use this as a springboard for concrete initiatives.
If you're interested, please check out our website.
We've also started a Twitter account specifically for students, so please follow and check that out as well.
