The Diversity and Inclusion Promotion Headquarters states:Support Program for Departmental and Organizational Initiatives to Promote Diversity and Inclusion"(Applications for the 2023 academic year are available here.We are implementing the following program. The aim of this program is to create opportunities for members of the university community to further deepen their understanding of diversity promotion, and it will be held on campus.DEIWe provide financial support for the costs of conducting seminars and other related events.
Thanks to this support, a lecture entitled "Laughing and Thinking About Gender, Diversity, and Minorities - Towards a Sustainable University and Research Life," hosted by the Institute of Media and Communication (Research Results Publication Committee) of our university, will be held on Thursday, December 7th. Details are provided below.
We are planning to hold the event in a hybrid format, inviting a gender studies researcher, who taught a course that was voted the most popular in a TV program survey, as a lecturer.

| Speaker introduction | Born in Nara Prefecture in 1963. Graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences, University of Tokyo, and completed the doctoral program at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, University of Tokyo (PhD). After serving as an assistant at the Faculty of Letters, Hokkaido University, and an associate professor at the University of Tokyo, he became a professor at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, University of Tokyo in 2009. His major works include "Gender Theory as Interpreted Through Controversial Commercials" (Kobunsha), "Gender Theory in Comedy," "Patriarchy in East Asia," and the edited work "East Asia Seen Through Gender and Sexuality" (both published by Keiso Shobo), and "New Techniques of Knowledge" (co-authored, University of Tokyo Press). |
