1. Recruitment of temporary childcare support for university entrance examinations.
We offer temporary childcare support for preschool-aged children of faculty and staff working on the day of the university entrance examination. Advance application is required to use this service; please check the details page for more information.

12. We will be holding a book talk (December 6th).
We will be holding our first book talk.
A book talk is an event where a popular author is invited, and the author and students discuss the content of their book.
The author of the first installment is Professor Kaku Sechiyama, a gender studies professor who was voted the most popular at the University of Tokyo. A hilarious lecture is guaranteed! Faculty, staff, and students, please invite your friends and come along!!

12. We will hold a lecture for "Disability Awareness Week" (December 7th).
In conjunction with "Disability Awareness Week" (held annually from December 3rd to 9th), we will be holding a series of lectures for faculty, staff, and students of our university with the aim of fostering understanding of disabilities.

4. Call for applications for the 2023 "Support for Personnel to Balance Research Activities and the Advancement of Female Leaders"
This program provides financial support for the employment costs of personnel who assist female researchers affiliated with Hokkaido University who hold key positions both inside and outside the university, such as those involved in university administration and social contribution, enabling them to balance their research activities with social contribution activities and excel as female leaders.
Those wishing to apply should carefully read the application guidelines on the website and submit their application form by the deadline set by their respective department. (The general deadline is December 1st (Friday), but departmental deadlines may be set earlier. Please be aware of this.)

5. Announcement of the Call for Applications for the 3rd Annual Award for Outstanding Female Researchers (Maria Skłodowska-Curie Prize) (Repost)
We would like to remind you once again that the deadline for applications (self-nomination and nomination by others) for the third round of the aforementioned award for young female researchers is fast approaching.
This award is named in honor of Maria, who later became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize for her discoveries of polonium at age 31 and radium at age 32. It is particularly aimed at young female researchers of this age group who are poised to make their mark on the world, just like her.
*Application deadline: Monday, December 11, 2023, 12:00 PM Japan time
The key criteria for evaluation are "potential for growth as a researcher," "willingness to engage in international collaborative research," and "a desire to contribute to humanity."
Target audience: Female researchers who have obtained their doctoral degree within the last five years, and female graduate students in doctoral programs.
This covers a wide range of research fields related to science and technology.
Awards include: Grand Prize (1 winner), 100 million yen prize money, etc.
Encouragement Award: 2 recipients, prize money 50 yen
