Hokkaido University will be conducting a one-week trial of on-site after-school childcare during the summer holidays for elementary school students, with the aim of establishing such a program in the future. We are therefore seeking participants for this trial program and volunteers to help with its operation.
After-school childcare enrollment
- Period: July 26th (Thu) - August 1st (Wed) *Closed on July 29th (Sun).
- Hours: 8:30 AM - 18:00 PM (extension possible until 19:00 PM)
- Location: Clark Hall, 3rd floor accommodation room (tentative)
- Target audience: Elementary school students in grades 1-6 (children whose parents are faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows, or students of this university)
- Capacity: 15 people
- Participation fee: 12,000 yen (tentative) *Includes insurance and snacks

8:50-9:00 Radio calisthenics
9:00-10:00 Morning study time: Students work on homework and other tasks during the cooler hours.
10:00-12:00 Free time, outdoor activities, etc.
12:00-13:00 Lunch
13:00-14:00 Reading/Study Time. We will spend some time quietly after lunch.
14:00-15:30 Free time or event
15:30 - Snack time
16:00 onwards: Free time, tidying up, and getting ready to go home.
18:00 Closing time

Recruiting instructors and volunteers for on-site after-school childcare at our facility.
We are recruiting individuals to help run our pilot program for on-site after-school childcare. We welcome a wide range of applicants, including those with teaching, childcare, or kindergarten teacher licenses, those with previous experience in after-school childcare or children's centers, and student volunteers.
- Responsibilities include: planning and managing daily schedules and events; supervising and guiding children; and communicating with parents.
