There are four announcements today.

1. Recruitment for the "Support Personnel Support Program for Balancing Research Activities and Life Events" (Spring Semester, FY2025) and the "Support Personnel Support Program for Balancing Research Activities and the Advancement of Female Leaders" (FY2025)

<Life Event Support> This program supports researchers by providing "support for the employment costs of support personnel" to enable them to balance life events such as childbirth and childcare with their research activities and to carry out their work smoothly.
<Support for the Advancement of Female Leaders> This program provides financial support for the employment costs of personnel who assist female researchers affiliated with Hokkaido University who hold important positions both inside and outside the university, such as university administration and social contribution, enabling them to balance their research activities with social contribution activities and succeed as female leaders.

Those wishing to apply should carefully read the application guidelines on each respective webpage and submit their application form by the deadline set by each department (the general deadline is January 15th (Wednesday), but departmental deadlines are likely to be earlier, so please be aware of this).

2. Recruitment for Mentoring and Shadowing Training Support

DEIThe Promotion Headquarters has begun accepting applications for the 2024 fiscal year for its "Mentoring and Shadowing Training Support Program for Female Researchers Aiming for Senior Positions."
We support voluntary training programs for female researchers aiming for career advancement, where they can learn about research activities and work management through mentoring and shadowing with senior faculty members (mentors).
Those wishing to apply should review the application guidelines and send the prescribed application form to our headquarters.

12. Diversity and Inclusion-related book exhibition begins (December 16th onwards)

The "Diversity and Inclusion Book Exhibition," a joint project with the university library, began on December 16th.
We receive a large number of visitors every year. The recommended books that were collected in October are also on display.

4. Announcement: Recruitment of university students to participate in the HAPPY WOMEN FESTA University Student Summit

The "HAPPY WOMEN FESTA," which has been held nationwide since 2017 to coincide with International Women's Day on March 8th, has been held in Sapporo since 2023, and various events are planned for March 8th and 9th in 2025. As one of the programs, the "University Student Summit ~What do we think a well-being future is?~" will be held.

We are currently recruiting Hokkaido University students to participate in this university student summit and give presentations on women's health issues. The project involves Hokkaido University teams (2-3 members) working on several themes presented by the organizers and presenting their findings on the day of the summit. Ideas generated at the summit will be submitted to the "Hokkaido Women's Support Office" at a later date.
