Theme and Content: We discussed career development for female researchers in engineering fields, work-life balance, and the current situation at the Gender Equality Office at Gifu University, followed by an exchange of opinions.

Results of the implementation
1) Regarding seminars, etc.
Professor Abe shared her background and career advancement, along with a detailed explanation of 3D printing of metals. There was a lively Q&A session from a technical perspective, covering topics such as how women can work in the cutting edge field of 3D printing, how the technology itself will develop in the future, what aspects could be applied to medicine, and conversely, what hurdles there are to applying it to medicine.
2) With the female researcherDEIRegarding the exchange of opinions, etc.
We were able to exchange various opinions on what kind of support women need to continue their research activities. In particular, we were able to hear detailed and specific stories about the importance of finding a supervisor who provides continuous support, and the importance of support from family members such as parents during child-rearing years.
