Announcement of the Hokkaido Women Researchers' Association Public Lecture: "Life Shines Through Dance Movement and Horticultural Activities ~Spiritual Support Woven by Multidisciplinary Collaboration~"

This is an announcement for a public lecture hosted by the Hokkaido Women Researchers Association, titled "Life Shines Through Dance Movement and Horticultural Activities: Supporting Spirituality Through Multidisciplinary Collaboration."

-------------------------------

In our daily living support services, we began offering support through dance movement and gardening activities with the hope of increasing the smiles and vitality of our clients with physical and mental disabilities, and enabling each individual to grasp the direction they want to live in through their physical senses. To this end, a multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists, physical therapists, caregivers, dance therapists, and gardening staff collaborate to support each individual's unique personality, promote mutual interaction, encourage self-selection and self-expression, and promote relaxation and activation of physical and mental functions.
We would also like to share that these practices are based on the Canadian model's idea that "a sense of being alive is fostered through work," and the philosophy of Diversional Therapy (creative leisure therapy) that "everyone has the right to have time to feel the joy of life."
