We will hear from Ms. Aino Laakkola-Pyykonen, Human Resources Officer at the University of Oulu in Finland, who is in charge of leave policies and training, about the mechanisms that support university faculty members in balancing life events and research at the University of Oulu.
With Professor Ryohei Nakano, a contributor to "Researchers Talk About Their Lives" (Iwanami Shoten), as moderator, we will invite Hokkaido University faculty members who are currently involved in childcare to exchange opinions on what kinds of measures and systems are necessary to enable participation in childcare, a fulfilling private life, and research to cope with each other.
