Incorporating a gender perspective into research and practice is believed to add value to excellence in higher education and research, creativity, and business opportunities. Gendered innovation contributes to creating products and services that are better suited to a changing society.
Furthermore, it is believed that this will lead not only to the advancement of science and technology, but also to the improvement of well-being and the correction of inequality.
In this session, Dr. Mervi Heikkinen, who has been involved in gender studies and analysis at higher education institutions in Finland and the EU for many years, will discuss the latest research in Gendered Innovation. She will introduce how incorporating a gender perspective has actually contributed to research excellence, provide specific examples of initiatives, and share a checklist for research projects promoted by the EU.
● Introduction to the Gender Impact Assessment Checklist
●What we learned from gender analyses in existing research projects in the EU
