The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) established the "Jun Ashida Award for Outstanding Female Researchers" and the "Jun Ashida Award for Promoting the Advancement of Outstanding Female Researchers" in fiscal year 2019 as part of its efforts to promote the active participation of female researchers. These awards recognize outstanding female researchers who are conducting research that contributes to a sustainable society and future, as well as the organizations that are promoting their activities. We are now opening applications for the 8th annual awards.
[Application requirements]
"Outstanding Female Researchers Award (Female Researchers)"
- Generally, applicants must be under 40 years old (taking into consideration periods of inactivity due to life events, etc.)
- Research field is not restricted as long as it is related to science and technology.
"Award for Promoting the Success of Outstanding Female Researchers (Institution)"
• Institutions that are implementing initiatives that serve as models for other institutions and contribute to promoting the active participation of female researchers.

The recipient received a certificate and medal from JST, and a prize of 100 million yen from the Ashida Foundation as a supplementary prize.
