On May 12, 2014, we held our first Career Lunch Seminar at the Academic Exchange Hall, welcoming Dr. Dolors Ludevid from the Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (Barcelona, ​​Spain). Dr. Ludevid spoke about her career and experiences not only as a scientist, but also as a wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter, as well as as an entrepreneur. We exchanged opinions on the differences in working environments and attitudes for women in Japan and Europe, and the risks faced by female researchers. She advised the participating female researchers that "emotion is very important."
