The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Science and Technology Promotion Coordination Fund project, "Accelerating the Reform of the Female Researcher Training System," which was newly launched this fiscal year, will officially begin on July 1st. Aiming to train outstanding female researchers in the fields of science, engineering, and agriculture and to retain them in universities and other research institutions, the following projects proposed by five universities, including Hokkaido University, were selected for fiscal year 7.

The five universities mentioned above offer faculty recruitment programs specifically for women, along with unique training programs, providing numerous opportunities for female researchers to advance and continue their careers.

Furthermore, in fiscal year 4, 12 new institutions (10 universities and 2 research institutions) were selected for the Science and Technology Promotion Coordination Fund's "Support Model Development for Female Researchers" program, which is now in its fourth year since its inception.

[Okayama University] An evolutionary plan to nurture female researchers, originating from Okayama University, the academic capital.
Including the 10 universities, including Hokkaido University, selected in FY2006, the 10 institutions selected in FY2007, and the 13 universities selected in FY2008, a total of 45 universities and research institutions have been selected for this project. Of these, the projects at the 10 universities that were launched in FY2006 ended in March of this year, but each is continuing its support activities with the aim of taking the next step. We hope that the support centers for female researchers that have spread throughout Japan will deepen their cooperation with one another and promote better support for female researchers.
