Among the various measures to support female researchers, supporting female junior and senior high school students in choosing science and engineering fields is a crucial initiative for nurturing the next generation of female researchers who will lead the future of science and technology. The support office is planning to form a caravan team, mainly composed of female students from Hokkaido University, and dispatch them to various locations throughout Hokkaido. These Hokkaido University students, who were junior and senior high school students themselves not long ago, will introduce their research, conduct experiments together, and talk directly with junior and senior high school girls, hoping to encourage them to take more interest in science and engineering and to convey that women can also enjoy and thrive in these fields. The first event, "Experience the Fun of Science with Female Students from Hokkaido University!", will be held on October 14th (Saturday) at the Nayoro Civic Culture Center. Similar events are planned for Furano City on October 28th (Saturday), and in Kitahiroshima City and Tobetsu Town in November.
*Students, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers who would like to participate in the caravan team as event staff, please contact the support office. Male students are also very welcome, not just female students.
