We held our first exchange meeting on Wednesday, July 20th. The theme was "How is everyone doing? Confusion about STEM careers - Doctoral programs and subsequent careers," and six people, mainly master's students, participated. They talked about their current worries and vague concerns about the future, such as "future aspirations, desired jobs, studying abroad, and the timing of career and life events," and shared their situations and opinions. We also had a participant from the United States via Skype (3:00 AM local time). We hope that by listening to each other's stories, students and faculty members from different fields and backgrounds than those they usually interact with, they were able to learn about the experiences of seniors and broaden their perspectives.
