We invited seven female faculty members who will be speaking in the omnibus-style university-wide course "The Job of a Scientist and Career Development," run by the Office for Supporting Female Researchers, for a lunch meeting that included an explanation of the course's objectives and a networking session.
This lecture series has continued for over five years, albeit under different names, but I realize now that this is the first time all the instructors have gathered to talk. I hope to take advantage of various opportunities to increase the number of such gatherings.
