July 22nd: Science and Engineering Support Caravan in Asahikawa - Booth Recruitment
FResHU's fun outreach program, "Science Support Caravan," which has been running for 10 years, will be holding a science experience event for junior and senior high school girls in Asahikawa City on Saturday, July 22nd. We are looking for groups who would like to set up a science experience booth.
The main attendees are female junior and senior high school students (and their guardians) who have a slight interest in science. The event aims to allow them to freely visit and experience the booths they like, learn about the breadth and depth of science, and talk with students about university life, with the hope that they will seriously consider a science-related career path (at Hokkaido University).
We anticipate fewer visitors this time than at last year's event held in Sapporo. Since a booth can be managed with just three people, why not consider exhibiting something from your research lab or other group? Please feel free to contact us regarding exhibit details.

English Presentation Practice Session (Research Presentation in English): Seeking Participants for Presentation Practice
Last year's "Research Presentation Session in English (English Presentation Practice Session)" was well-received by participants, and this year we plan to hold it approximately once every four months. Experienced native English-speaking instructors will provide advice on your presentations and help you build confidence. You can even practice Q&A sessions. Why not practice your presentation outside of your lab before an international conference? Details are available on the website!

Announcement: Applications for the Global Networking Award and SG FResHU Support will be opening soon.
The Office for Supporting Female Researchers provides two types of subsidies to support global networking among female researchers.
- Global Networking Award: This award recognizes outstanding female faculty members and provides financial assistance of up to 40 yen for travel expenses related to attending international conferences and networking activities (Plus one visit) (maximum of 2 recipients).
- SG FResHU Support: Provides financial assistance (up to 2 projects) for travel expenses and honoraria for female researchers who find it difficult to participate in international networking activities such as attending international conferences due to childbirth, childcare, etc., in order to invite researchers from overseas for research exchange.
These are currently being prepared and applications are expected to open this month. Notifications will be sent through the administrative offices of each department, but if you're wondering why you haven't received notification about the start of applications yet, please check the website of the Office for Supporting Female Researchers .
