[Announcement] Workshop for Empowering Female Researchers and Creating New Fields - Registration Closed (Registration Closed)

The National Women's Education Center and the U.S. National Science Foundation have decided to hold a Japan-U.S. symposium aimed at empowering female researchers and creating new fields of research. Under the theme of "Connections," approximately 30 promising female researchers from Japan and the United States will gather to exchange opinions on the future direction of science and technology, including the creation of new research fields through information technology and interdisciplinary research, and the resolution of global issues such as the environment and disaster prevention through the advancement of science and technology. The symposium also aims to build a network among participants from various fields, with a view to future international collaborative research.
In addition, we will exchange opinions on effective measures to promote gender equality, such as fostering female leadership. However, compared to previous symposia on support measures for female researchers, this symposium will focus on improving the research of female researchers.

This symposium is, in principle, closed to the public in order to foster close relationships between Japanese and American participants, with only the keynote speeches and panel discussions being open to the public.
However, as this is a valuable opportunity for people active in various fields to gather together, we have decided to hold a pre-conference workshop on the afternoon of the first day (July 5th) titled "Workshop for Empowering Female Researchers and Creating New Fields," which will be open to the public, with the aim of improving the research capabilities and fostering leadership among young female researchers in Japan.

We hope you will understand the purpose of this event and invite female researchers and anyone interested in the topics to participate.
