<Extra Edition> Regarding the first round of applications for the "Support Personnel Program for Balancing Research Activities and Life Events in FY30"

Hello, this is Kato from the Women Researchers Support Office. I have an important announcement today, so this is a special edition!

Applications are now open for the first term of the "Support for Research Assistants to Balance Research Activities and Life Events in FY30" (formerly: Support for Research Assistants During Maternity Leave/Childcare Leave, etc.)!

Until this fiscal year, we were recruiting for "Research support personnel during maternity leave, childcare leave, etc.," but from fiscal year 30, it has been changed to "Support personnel for balancing research activities and life events," and we have now begun accepting applications for the previous year.

This support program aims to help researchers affiliated with Hokkaido University balance life events such as childbirth and childcare with their research activities and administrative duties by providing support personnel.
The support requirements are as follows:

Support requirements

The following individuals among the faculty members (including specially appointed faculty members) and postdoctoral researchers of this university will be eligible for support (hereinafter referred to as "eligible individuals").

  1. Those who plan to take maternity leave or childcare leave during the support period and will be absent for at least half of the six-month period covered by the application.
  2. Those raising preschool-aged children (women only)
  3. Those who take caregiving leave during the support period, or who are on a daily basis caring for or nursing family members and have significant time constraints.
  4. Persons engaged in management and administration who have significant time constraints due to childcare for preschool children, or raising or caring for minors who require special care, and who require administrative assistance.
Management and Administration: Department heads, deputy department heads/assistant department heads, etc., heads of departments/divisions, etc., assistant to the president.
  • "Postdoctoral Researcher" refers to a person hired in accordance with the "Guidelines for Postdoctoral Researchers at Hokkaido University, a National University Corporation." If the person in question is a postdoctoral researcher or a researcher affiliated with JSPS, etc., who is conducting research activities based at this university, whether or not they are eligible for support will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
