1. Announcement of "Lunch Exchange Meeting for Female Engineering Students"
Next week, on Monday, March 5th, we'll be holding a casual lunch get-together for female engineering students to exchange ideas! Let's listen to the experiences of women working in research and discover horizontal connections that go beyond the boundaries of labs and departments (vertical)♪
We'll have delicious sandwiches ready for you, so please feel free to join us!

2. Information Session: "Working at AIST, Recruitment and Personnel Systems, and Initiatives to Promote Diversity"
After lunch, we headed to the information session!
Following the lunch mentioned above, the briefing session will be held at 2:30 PM on March 5th, hosted by the Diversity Promotion Office of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and co-sponsored by our support office.
This information session is for graduate students and postdocs interested in working at public research institutions. Female researchers currently working in these institutions will provide information about their workplaces, including master's and doctoral student recruitment, personnel systems, and work-life balance issues such as childbirth, childcare, and elder care. Individual consultations will also be available after the session!
What is AIST (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology)?
It is one of Japan's largest public research institutions, comprehensively conducting diverse technological developments across a wide range of fields in seven areas (energy and environment, biotechnology, information and human engineering, materials and chemistry, electronics and manufacturing, geological surveys, and measurement standards).
The National Institute for Research and Development was established in 15 through the integration and reorganization of 15 research institutes, including the Geological Survey of Japan, which was founded in 13, and the Metrology Training Institute. In 28, it was designated as a Specified National Research and Development Corporation under the Special Measures Act.
Approximately 2300 researchers work at 10 research centers nationwide (including Sapporo City), and the company has also received the highest level of the "Eruboshi" certification for promoting women's participation in the workforce.
This environment allows you to utilize the expertise you gained at university, either as a researcher or as a research support staff member.
