FY30 General Education Course: "The Job of a Scientist and Career Development - Learning from the Career Histories of Female Researchers"

This course aims to deepen students' understanding of career development by studying theories of career development and considering them in conjunction with concrete career histories. At the same time, students will gain a deeper understanding of the mission and social role of researchers by hearing directly from scientists with diverse backgrounds about their research and their thoughts on their research. Learning how women who have experienced life events such as childbirth and child-rearing have devised ways to achieve their goals, what difficulties they have encountered, and how they have overcome them will be useful for students, regardless of gender, in thinking about proactive and strategic life career design. Furthermore, students will be encouraged to understand the relationship between individual careers and the social environment, and to consider "the active participation of diverse talent in society" and "human resource development for a sustainable society."
