2014年度から行っている『SG FResHU Support 海外研究者招へい費用補助』の今年度の募集がもうすぐ始まります！
『SG FResHU Support 海外研究者招へい費用補助』って？？？
文部科学省のスーパーグローバル大学創成事業「Hokkaidoユニバーサルキャンパス・イニシアチブ」において、妊娠、出産・育児等のため海外になかなか行くことができない女性研究者に対し、海外から研究者を招へいし、研究についてのアドバイスまたは共同研究についてのディスカッションを行う機会を提供する支援です。
Support amount and number of projects to be selected
- This program subsidizes the travel expenses (transportation + accommodation) and honoraria of invited researchers. This does not preclude combining these funds with other sources.
- The invitation period is expected to be approximately 5 to 10 days.
- The maximum amount of compensation is 100,000 yen per case.
- The maximum travel expense subsidy is 290,000 yen per trip.
- Two projects (from two individuals) are planned to be selected.
Support requirements
- Female researchers at Hokkaido University (excluding graduate students) who find it difficult to travel abroad for research exchanges due to pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, etc.
- Those who can hold a public seminar* for researchers within the university during the invitation period.
* There are no restrictions on the format of the seminars or other events that are made public, but they should be on a topic that can attract a wide range of participants.

『 WinGS (Women in Global Science) Global Networking Award（グローバルネットワーキング賞）』とは
This program, which began in 2014 following our university's selection for the Research University Strengthening Promotion Project, recognizes outstanding female faculty members (including associate professors and below, as well as specially appointed faculty) and provides them with financial assistance to promote the formation of international networks as a prize.
The award recipients
In addition to the award, overseas travel expenses will be provided (up to 400,000 yen).
Entry conditions
- Only female faculty members at Hokkaido University (including associate professors, lecturers, and specially appointed assistant professors)
- Presenting at international conferences/meetings in 2018
- Visit researchers along the way for collaboration.
*Before attending the international conference, I will participate in presentation training organized by FResHU.

"I've followed the path to becoming a researcher while making several "choices," starting with choosing a research lab as an undergraduate student, then my research topic in my doctoral program, the development of my research after becoming a faculty member, and balancing work and raising children."
I always came up with my own "strategies" at the time, and while some things went as planned, there were others that I regret and wish I had considered a different strategy.
