The eighth installment of the series will be held on Tuesday, August 28th, at 12:8 PM in the conference room of the General Research Building on the Central Campus.

To support the career development of female students and researchers, we will be holding a role model roundtable discussion, "Meet the FResHU," inviting female faculty members from within the university as guests to talk about their research and career paths.
You can hear about things you wouldn't normally hear in a research presentation in a specialized field, such as the reasons why they arrived at their research field and their actual lifestyle, as well as various issues that women face, all in a relaxed atmosphere.
It will be held during lunchtime, so why not enjoy a fun exchange of information while eating your lunch?

The theme isWhat does it mean to "balance" work and childcare?
We'd like to think together about what kind of environment is necessary to enable work-life balance, and what we can do to create such an environment.

Here is a comment from Professor Shimura.
"I'm generally considered to be doing a good job balancing both work and childcare."
However, I feel that the level of fulfillment in each case is considerably lower compared to cases where one can dedicate themselves to work or childcare.
It's especially noticeable at work, and I sometimes wonder if the time I spend with my children is really enough.
However, even though both aspects seem to be half-hearted, overall, they appear to be happy.
I'm able to manage both my work and raising children thanks to the environment I'm in.

While it's said that one should balance work (career development) and childcare,
For students who haven't experienced it yet, it will probably seem like an incredibly difficult thing, to the point of being daunting.
However, both events are filled with happiness, and although they can be challenging, there are quite a few enjoyable aspects to them once you try them.
I hope to share stories that will help you recognize what you value and what you are capable of, so that you can work hard with a positive attitude.

About lunch boxes

You can order lunch boxes in bulk from our office. Please fill in your name, email address, etc. on the application form below, and then fill out the lunch box order form as well. Payment will be requested when you attend the discussion meeting. You are also welcome to bring your own lunch. In that case, please check the box that says "I do not wish to receive a lunch box."
