/////////////////////////////
The Japan Society of Women Scientists ( http://www.sjws.info/index.html ) was established in 1958 and celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. Consistently, the society has strived to create an environment and network where women and men can both demonstrate their individuality and abilities in the field of science and technology, and to contribute to society. Since becoming a general incorporated association in April 2014, the society has been working to further develop its structure to contribute to society.
Our members are researchers affiliated with universities and research institutions specializing in fields such as science, engineering, medicine, pharmacy, and agriculture, as well as researchers and engineers from companies. We cover a wide range of scientific and technological fields, and male researchers and engineers also participate in our activities.
The Japan Association of Women Scientists Encouragement Award is given to members of the Association (membership is possible at the time of application, regardless of gender) who have made significant research achievements in a wide range of fields of science and engineering, show promise for the future, and who support the association's objectives and are working to achieve them. This year marks the 24st awarding of the prize, and it also contributes to the promotion of female researchers.
