The theme isWhat does it mean to "balance" work and childcare?
We'd like to think together about what kind of environment is necessary to enable work-life balance, and what we can do to create such an environment.
Here is a comment from Professor Shimura.
"I'm generally considered to be doing a good job balancing both work and childcare."
However, I feel that the level of fulfillment in each case is considerably lower compared to cases where one can dedicate themselves to work or childcare.
It's especially noticeable at work, and I sometimes wonder if the time I spend with my children is really enough.
However, even though both aspects seem to be half-hearted, overall, they appear to be happy.
I'm able to manage both my work and raising children thanks to the environment I'm in.

For students who haven't experienced it yet, it will probably seem like an incredibly difficult thing, to the point of being daunting.
However, both events are filled with happiness, and although they can be challenging, there are quite a few enjoyable aspects to them once you try them.
I hope to share stories that will help you recognize what you value and what you are capable of, so that you can work hard with a positive attitude.
