"Meet the FResHU" is a role model roundtable discussion featuring female faculty members from across the university, where they share their research and career journeys. We support the career development of female students and researchers!
• Career histories of female researchers
• Reasons for arriving at this research field
What is their actual lifestyle like?
You can ask questions that might be difficult to ask during research presentations in specialized fields, and freely exchange opinions with other participants!
Our guest this time is...
Graduate School of Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Space Engineering
Materials Functional Engineering Laboratory
This is Assistant Professor Nao Fujimura!
The theme isWhat's your favorite metal?
At my own pace, steadily and diligently: How a female student became a researcher.
Here is a comment from Professor Fujimura.
"Engineering is said to be a field with few women, and I belong to the mechanical engineering field, which has a particularly low number of women within that field."
In this roundtable discussion, I'd like to touch on what it's like to conduct research in such an environment with so few women.
I would also like to share my experiences from high school through my undergraduate and graduate studies, including the choices I've made along the way, to get to where I am today.
