If you want to hear valuable insights from senior female teachers, join the role model roundtable "Meet the FResHU"! It will be held on Wednesday, September 21th.

"Meet the FResHU" is a role model roundtable discussion featuring female faculty members from across the university, where they share their research and career journeys. We support the career development of female students and researchers!

  • Career histories of female researchers
  • Reasons for arriving at this research field
  • What's their actual lifestyle like?

You can ask questions that might be difficult to ask during research presentations in specialized fields, and freely exchange opinions with other participants!

Our guest this time is...

Faculty of Science, Department of Chemistry
This is Project Assistant Professor Tomoko Akama!

The theme isHow to utilize life event support to work in a way that suits you

Here is a comment from Professor Akama.
Looking back on my career and life events so far, I realize that I have been helped by a variety of people, including my husband and family who are researchers in the same field, my research lab, the university's counseling and support offices, and, after my child was born, the nursery school, NPOs and social welfare organizations.
Thanks to that, I was able to live with my husband, have two children, continue breastfeeding, and even take my children on business trips. I feel strongly that I've managed to get this far without giving up on either my research or my family.
Before I knew about the existence of this kind of support, I often felt anxious.
I hope that by sharing this experience, we can share and exchange information about places where you can seek advice or get help when you're in trouble.
