On Thursday, February 1st, Hokkaido University's Working Group on Gender-Related Research and Education Systems will host a public lecture entitled "Support for Female Researchers and Gender Education." The speaker, Professor Akiko Togawa, is a fascinating professor who laid the foundation for today's support for female researchers. ■ Overview
As the government's efforts toward gender equality progress, the establishment of support systems for female researchers in universities has come into the spotlight. However, there are social and economic structures and work environments that are closely tied to existing gender concepts and gender roles, and many problems must be overcome in order to achieve results. This lecture will broadly discuss the creation of systems that enable researchers to concentrate on research and education regardless of gender, and how to cultivate human resources who can recognize the various problems caused by gender differences and think about solutions to them.
