The National Diversity Network Organization (OPENeD), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology,
This is a network connecting various institutions working to improve the research environment and enhance the research capabilities of female researchers.
(Coordinating university: Osaka University) The purpose is to investigate trends in domestic and international initiatives and to disseminate and expand the experience and knowledge gained from them nationwide.
We are divided into eight regional blocks across the country and operate accordingly.

The Hokkaido block is planning the following activities:

  • Holding online meetings (to confirm the progress of each organization's initiatives, share good practices and challenges, etc.)

  • Sharing of seminars and other initiatives conducted by each organization through online and on-demand streaming.

  • Consultation and exchange of opinions at the practical staff level,DEISharing related information

  • Discussion among female undergraduate and graduate students,
    Career path support

  • Providing opportunities to interact with diverse role models

Recruitment promotion and retention, talent development

  • Implementation of positive action measures such as open recruitment limited to women.

  • "Support for female researchers' partners"
    Employment support for researcher couples through "(Spousal Accompaniment Support)"
    (Utilization of cross-appointments by universities and research institutions within Hokkaido)*

  • Development of research leaders and university management personnel
