Past surveys have revealed comments such as, "There is no rest room in the department where I can lie down temporarily when I feel unwell during pregnancy," and "I expressed breast milk in a toilet stall."
The Diversity and Inclusion Promotion Headquarters believes that such break rooms should naturally be provided in each department, and we are working to promote this through the university's facilities department. However, in some departments, progress in providing these rooms is not being made due to reasons such as a lack of available rooms.
Therefore, we offer equipment rentals to ensure a minimum level of private space.
Overview
We lend out equipment to ensure you have a clean, private space when you need to lie down temporarily due to feeling unwell during pregnancy or when you need to express breast milk.
Target users
Female faculty members, researchers, and students at this university who are pregnant or require breastfeeding.
Items available for loan
- 3-panel partition, 3 units (Width 1810 x Depth 380 x Height 1668 (folded: Width 600 x Depth 380 x Height 1668) mm, Weight 12 kg)
- One portable bed (680mm wide x 1825mm deep x 255-825mm high, 5kg weight)
- Two reclining chairs (Dimensions when chair is in use: W575 x D890 x H1100mm / Dimensions when reclined: W575 x D1650 x H660mm, Weight: 8.9kg)
- Accessories (1 set)
Lending period
30 days from the start of the loan period
However, if there are no other users, the rental period can be extended in 30-day increments.

Usage rules
- Each time you use the facility, please fill in the usage time in the provided usage log.
- This service is only available to registered users.
- If multiple users wish to share the facility, each user must submit their own application.
- You will receive a notification email near the end of the 30-day loan period, so please be sure to reply.
- Please handle the borrowed items with care so that the next person can use them with peace of mind.
- Damage from normal use will be covered by the Diversity and Inclusion Promotion Headquarters. Damage caused by use by someone other than the user, intentional acts, or use for purposes other than those intended will be the responsibility of the borrower.
- The Diversity and Inclusion Promotion Headquarters will handle the transportation of the sets, but you are also welcome to pick them up directly.
- Please return the item if you no longer need it, or if you will not have the opportunity to use it for more than a week due to business trips, etc.
- When you wish to return the item, please contact the Diversity and Inclusion Promotion Headquarters, and we will come to pick it up.
