1. Purpose of supporting this project
Under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Super Global University Project, "Hokkaido Universal Campus Initiative," female researchers who are unable to travel abroad due to pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, or elder care will be provided with opportunities to invite researchers from overseas to receive advice on their research or to discuss collaborative research.
2. Support Period
Five days between July 27, 2015 and February 28, 2016
3. Eligible recipients
Female researchers at Hokkaido University (excluding graduate students) who find it difficult to travel abroad for research exchanges due to pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, or caregiving.
4. Support details
This program invites overseas researchers who wish to engage in research exchange to the university, providing opportunities for them to receive research advice and participate in discussions through one-on-one sessions or seminars. A condition of this program is that the recipient must hold a public seminar* for on-campus researchers during the invitation period.
*The format of the seminar or other event to be made public is not restricted.
5. Amount of support and number of projects to be selected
- This program will cover the travel expenses (transportation and accommodation) and honorarium of invited researchers.
- The invitation period will be a maximum of 5 days.
- The maximum amount of the honorarium will be 10 yen.
- The maximum travel expense subsidy will be 32 yen.
- Two proposals (from two individuals) are expected to be selected.

8. Application Deadline

Applicants will be notified of the results by Friday, July 10th.
9. About the report
You will be required to submit a report, intended for public release, within one month of the completion of the support program. A simple report is acceptable, but it may be used by the support office to assist with the Women Researchers Support Program.
Furthermore, successful candidates may be asked to cooperate with symposiums, seminars, and other events organized by the Office for Supporting Female Researchers in the future.
