Objective
As part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "Initiative for Realizing a Diversity Research Environment (Leading Type)" (FY2019-FY2024), we will provide research grants to female principal investigators at our university who have plans to conduct excellent collaborative research with researchers from other partner institutions (KNIT collaborative research), with the aim of improving the research capabilities and leadership skills of female researchers and expanding the research network in Hokkaido.

Grant target
A. Grants for the principal investigator
This program provides grants to research leaders for collaborative research projects in which a female researcher affiliated with this university (including specially appointed faculty members and postdoctoral researchers) serves as the principal investigator, and at least one researcher from another KNIT partner institution (Muroran Institute of Technology, Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Kitami Institute of Technology, Amino Up Co., Ltd., Nitto Denko Corporation) participates as a co-investigator.
B. Grants for co-researchers
For collaborative research projects in which a female researcher belonging to a KNIT partner institution (including this university) serves as the principal investigator (including specially appointed faculty members and postdoctoral researchers), and at least one researcher belonging to a different KNIT partner institution participates as a co-investigator, this university will provide grants to co-investigators (regardless of gender, including specially appointed faculty members and postdoctoral researchers) belonging to this university.
Grant amount
A. Maximum of 100 million yen
B. Up to 20 yen (only applicable if the principal investigator is a researcher belonging to another collaborating institution, and if the participants in the joint research include a female researcher from this university.)

B. About 5 cases

From the time of selection until the end of fiscal year 2020

*Researchers from this university participating as co-researchers in joint research conducted by a principal investigator affiliated with another institution must submit the same joint research application form to the Office for Promoting a Diversity Research Environment as the principal investigator.
