Regarding the Collaborative Research Fund for Leadership Improvement of Female Researchers (KNIT Collaborative Research Fund)

OVERVIEW

As part of the Initiative for the Implementation of the Diversity in the Research Environment (Tractor Type) (AY 2019-2024), one of the Science and Technology Human Resources Development Subsidy Programmes (funded by MEXT), Hokkaido University announces a research funding scheme for female principal investigators of the University, in order to promote the research capacity and improve the leadership skills of female researchers who plan to conduct superior collaborative research with their collaborators at other collaborating organisations (KNIT Collaborative Research), and also to expand research networks in Hokkaido.

ELIGIBILITY

A. Funding for Principal Investigators

Funding for the principal investigators of collaborative research which principal investigators are female researchers of the University (including specially-appointed faculty and postdoctoral fellows), and which research collaborators include at least one researcher of other KNIT member organisations (Muroran Institute of Technology, Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Kitami Institute of Technology, Amino Up Co., Ltd., and Nitto Denko Corporation) for each
 

B. Funding for Collaborative Researchers

Funding for the research collaborators from the University (gender-free, including specially-appointed faculty and postdoctoral fellows) of collaborative research which principal investigators are female researchers (including specially-appointed faculty and postdoctoral fellows) of any of the KNIT member organisations (including the University), and which research collaborators include at least one researcher of the KNIT member organisations different from the affiliation of principal investigators

AMOUNT OF FUNDING

A. Max. 1,000,000 JPY/proposal
B. Max. 200,000 JPY/proposal (For research proposals which principal investigators are from other organisations, yet still have female researchers of the University as its collaborative researchers)

EXPECTED FUNDINGS

A. Around 8 proposals
B. Around 5 proposals

Please kindly download and refer to the following guideline, and e-mail the designated application form to Promotion office of Research environment for Diversity (Former Support Office for Female Researchers in Hokkaido University).
*Research collaborators of the University who will join KNIT Collaborative Research by other KNIT member organisations shall e-mail the Office to submit the same designated application forms which are submitted to the organisations of the principal investigators.
