Hokkaido University is seeking internal opinions on "Diversity & Inclusion."

In order for us, living in the 21st century, to contribute to the sustainable development of the world and our local communities, Hokkaido University has established the "Hokkaido University Diversity & Inclusion Promotion Declaration," based on coexistence and symbiosis with diverse people.

To commemorate the establishment of the declaration, we will discuss "gender, sexuality, ethnic coexistence, and universal design," which are important themes for promoting diversity and inclusion in universities.Commemorative Lecture for the Establishment of the "Hokkaido University Diversity & Inclusion Promotion Declaration"It will be held.

We're soliciting your opinions on topics related to the lecture (or anything else)!
To help us promote diversity and inclusion at our university in the future, please tell us about any "unsettling feelings" (no matter how trivial they may seem) you've experienced while at the university. The opinions we receive will be compiled by the Diversity Research Environment Promotion Office and shared with relevant departments within the university. Even if you can only answer a topic, we would greatly appreciate it.

For example ...

  • I've heard about people who felt uncomfortable on campus or who had troubled experiences with those around them.
  • What kind of support would be helpful, and what we would like universities to address as an organization.
  • I have experienced (or witnessed) disadvantages due to my gender or sexuality.
  • Discriminatory remarks and assumptions (whether malicious or not)
  • Problems with on-campus facilities and equipment, systems and customs, organizational culture, and matters related to education.
